Report: Jordan Brailford Has Undergone Shoulder Surgery

According to a report by the O’Collyredshirt sophomore defensive end Jordan Brailford underwent surgery on his right should on Thursday.

Oklahoma State has yet to confirm the injury officially but did confirm last week that Brailford was granted his expected medical hardship waiver for the 2016 season, which he missed due to a stress fracture in his leg.

According the report, this latest setback could be just that and Brailford could be back in action as early as August for fall camp. He did not participate in the spring game.

Before being ruled out for all of last season, Brailford was expected to compete for starting reps. He’ll still be in the mix with the likes of Cole Walterscheid, Jarrell Owens, Vili Leveni and Tralund Webber.

Without Brailford, the Cowboys are two-deep in defensive ends with starting experience. With him, the Cowboys are even stronger at their deepest position group on defense.

Here’s what Mike Gundy had to say about Brailford’s importance to the defense this spring.

“If he stays healthy and plays like he should,” said Gundy “he will be a guy that can impact our defense as much as anybody on the field.”

Let’s hope he can get/stay healthy.
