Report: Marcell Ateman Running Again, now ‘Week to Week’
Senior pass catcher Marcell Ateman has not played a game this season for OSU, after suffering an injury in the preseason that has held him out to this point. According to a report from the Tulsa World’s Mark Cooper, Mike Gundy says that Ateman has reached the point in his recovery that he’s now running again.
“He’s in a week-to-week mode now,” Gundy said. “They’re going to start doing change of direction next week, is what I was told. From that point on we’ll have a pretty good idea of where he’s at.”
Ateman was OSU’s second leading receiver from a year ago who had 766 receiving yards and 5 touchdown grabs.
Jhajuan Seales and Chris Lacy have both helped fill the 6-foot-4 void left by Ateman this season, combining for 511 yards between the two. But no doubt that having the skill and height of Ateman at receiver back on the field would be huge for OSU.
