Rudolph, Washington Named Nation’s Top QB-WR Duo
A recent BleacherReport article listed Oklahoma State seniors Mason Rudolph and James Washington as the nation’s top quarterback-wide receiver duo for the upcoming 2017 season.

With Washington as one of the nation’s top returning receiver and Rudolph already on the Heisman watch list, it’s not too surprising to find them at the No. 1 spot.
The one thing that differentiated this duo from the others on the list was the other weapons on the Cowboy offense, and how defenses can’t focus too much on Washington without giving up big plays elsewhere. This is what BleacherReport writer Kerry Miller had to say on the subject:
“In addition to being the perfect tandem of a QB with a cannon arm and a WR who might be the best home run threat in the nation, what really makes this connection special is that there are plenty of weapons elsewhere in the offense. If an opponent focuses all of its energy on stopping this duo, McCleskey or RB Justice Hill (1,142 yards as a freshman) will tear it to shreds.”
The Cowboys were one of two Big 12 teams, with the Oklahoma Sooners’ tandem of Baker Mayfield and Mark Andrews listed at No. 5.
