Superlatives from the Kansas State Game
The passing game was opened up and in full display on Saturday. There were some big time plays made on both sides, so here’s the best (and worst) from the Kansas State game.
Winner: Mike Yurcich. Hats off to the man for working very well with a limited roster. He was without his top two backs, and dialed up some big time plays to keep the Cowboys hanging around.
Losers: Jeff Carr. It’s not that he didn’t have a good game, it’s that he was hardly called on. I put him in this category simply because the game plan didn’t work to his favor for his first career start.
Player of the game: Mason Rudolph
Best play: The Ice Pirate.

Most clutch play: This game would have effectively ended had Rudolph not completed this 4th and 8 across the middle.

Best quote:
Robert Allen: "What's that play called?" (Referring to the 4th down play)
Mason: "It's called 'Throw it to Marcell for the first down."Lol

Best vine: This just made me laugh.

Heroic performance: How about Cook, the FIFTH string quarterback who gave OSU everything they could handle?
The most gutsy call:Â Flea-flicker. Yurcich was on his game today.

Breakout performers: Marcell Ateman, James Washington, and Jalen McCleskey all had breakout performances. I thought Ateman was excellent all game, and McCleskey continues to impress me as a lightly recruited prospect and true frosh.
