Three-star Running Back Makes Visit to Oklahoma State for Homecoming
Of the many recruiting visitors over the weekend was a big name who snuck under the radar in three-star Texas tailback Calvin Tyler. Tyler is a three-star tailback who plays for Silsbee, Texas, and was named the District 22-5A Co-MVP as a junior playing for Beaumont Ozen (Texas). He was also first team Super gold offense and the SETX running back of the year.

Tyler is a five-foot-nine, 190-pound prospect who has 13 offers – most notably from the University of Cal, Fresno State, Illinois, La. Tech and others. His production for Texas preps has been very attractive for college coaches. As a senior this year, he set a new single season rushing record with more than 2,200 yards in just 9 games. He crushed the 2,000 mark with a 15 carry, 384 yard output in his last game.
He does not hold an offer from the Cowboys, and with both Canadian speedster Chuba Hubbard and Georgia power back J.D. King in tow, Oklahoma State may be satisfied at the position for the 2017 recruiting class. But having a recruit of Tyler’s caliber is worth noting.
