Tony Allen Picked as Toughest Player in the NBA
The annual NBA General Managers survey results were announced for the 2016-2017 season and for the second straight year former OSU guard Tony Allen was picked as the “Toughest Player in the NBA”.
The seventh-year Memphis Grizzlies guard received 23.3 percent of the votes, ahead of San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard with 16.7 percent and Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook with 13.3 percent.

Allen earned the same honor last season, garnering 20.7 percent of the vote.
The 2004 Big 12 Player of the Year also came in third in voting for “best perimeter defender in the NBA” with 6.7 percent behind San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard and Boston’s Avery Bradley.
Third place is pretty good, especially because defense is something Allen has prided himself on since joining the league. But we all know where Allen would put himself.
