Travis Ford Announces Jawun Evans Out For Season
OSU’s two best players will both watch from the bench for the rest of the year. On Saturday night, after getting thumped by Texas Tech, Travis Ford announced that Jawun Evans is out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Evans’ final numbers for his first season in college are pretty outstanding.
Jawun out for the yr. His per 40 stats vs. Smart’s 1st year.
Evans: 18 pts | 6 reb | 7 ast | 2 stl
Smart: 18 pts | 7 reb | 5 ast | 4 stl— Pistols Firing (@pistolsguys) February 21, 2016
This reminds me of Le’Bryan Nash’s freshman year a little bit. Nash broke his hand against OU in 2012 and missed the tail end of his freshman season. It’s a bummer, too, because Evans was the lone bright spot on not just this team but within the entire season. He was headed for All-Big 12 honors and likely going to be a Freshman All-American.
Now he will just be an asterisk on Travis Ford’s career. And hopefully we haven’t seen him in the orange and black for the final time.
