Two Booker T. Washington Prospects for OSU Fans to Watch
Oklahoma State has had success recruiting in the Tulsa area in the Mike Gundy area and a major hotbed of talent comes from Booker T. Washington, who most recently has produced Justice Hill and Jordan Brailford for the Pokes.
They are consistently one of the top schools in the state and, not surprisingly, there are several prospects on the rise who could soon be Oklahoma State targets — both with family ties to OSU.
Daxton Hill — Athlete
The younger brother of true freshman phenom Justice Hill, Daxton (who calls himself the money badger!), is just a sophomore but at 6-foot-1, 170-pounds, he is already bigger than Justice and has the playmaking ability both on offense and defense to be a versatile weapon at the next level. He doesn’t have an offer yet, but he will likely be one who will have his pick of the litter — and possibly soon.
Rylan McQuarters – Athlete / Return Man/ Tailback
The son of R.W. McQuarters, who played at OSU and in the NFL, Rylan is an athletic cornerback / return man / tailback with abilities similar to his dad. At 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, McQuarters is a junior who has seen time at cornerback and kick return but could be gaining some interest at the next level soon, with a chance this year to step in at tailback now that Justice Hill is gone. He’s likely another to become a well-known recruit this season. Perhaps the family connection could help the Cowboys down the road with their chances, too. Said Rylan to the Tulsa World recently: “I wouldn’t mind going to Oklahoma State. Great school. Great football program. Close to home. I would like to stay close to home.”
His father agrees. “I can’t tell him where to go. I can only make suggestions. He knows how I feel about Oklahoma State.”
Note: An earlier edition of this post inappropriately referenced Carson Cunningham’s thoughts on Booker T. Washington (which was a joke) and has since been edited out.
