The news that Griffin will transfer doesn’t come as a big surprise. It’s been rumored for awhile that Griffin, who averaged 5.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, would likely take his talents elsewhere.
With Jawun Evans out for most of last season, Griffin saw a wealth of playing time. But with Evans returning, and two point guards coming in to compete this fall in Brandon Averette and Thomas Dziagwa, his playing time at best would have been limited if not completely eliminated.
Choosing to transfer gives Griffin his choice to play elsewhere where he may be able to see more playing time. And for that, you can’t fault the young man.
