Uniform Predictions: Oklahoma State-West Virginia
West Virginia will wear a throwback combination on Saturday against Oklahoma State in Stillwater. What will the Pokes counter with? We have ideas.
As always, thanks to Chris Knox for the imaging work. Especially impressive this week when we throw unused combos at him.
Southwell
1945 Throwbacks. All the way. Not just the helmets this year. It’s a bigger reach than Michael Jordan at the end of Space Jam, but why not go all out for this game?
The Oklahoma State equipment room is a subdivision of Area 51. They’ve kept the 1945 National Championship trophy back there for about a year without anyone finding out. They could easily keep the ’45 throwback threads back there without anyone knowing as well.
It’s hard to imagine a homecoming game in something other than orange, but everyone should appreciate that level of greatness.

I don’t believe in this pick at all, but I had to go agains the throwback grain of Carson and Southwell. I have the diagonal OSU helmet as my No. 1 helmet of all time, and I think I hope they wear it again more than I think they actually will wear it again.
Going white-orange-black would be a big surprise so I’m out on a limb a little bit. Maybe the uni squad in Stillwater will throw me a bone.
Carson
The 1988 throwbacks are Kyle and I’s white whale. We have wanted them for years.
Apparently OSU can’t wear throwback uniforms since they have three jerseys already (thanks to Nike, better than adidas). But a helmet circulated on social media with the ’80s brand on it, so I have hope.
White, orange, white has become the norm on Homecoming but I’ll switch it up and go with an ’88 alternate combo, even if it will be with current threads — white, orange, orange.
