Walsh, Glidden and Peterson Reflect on Their Careers

Published

These are my favorite quotes to read. Not abou the games. Not about strategy. Just about the college experience we’ve all had in one way or another. My buddy Amilian said something tonight when Kevin Peterson came out for senior night I thought was true. “It feels like we were just recruiting these dudes,” he said.

Yeah, it really does. Anyway, here’s what they had to say about their last game in Boone Pickens Stadium.

David Glidden

“This is really my family. I grew up an OSU fan, and I couldn’t be happier to be where I’ve been for these last five years.”

“It was crazy. I never really pictured that day would come, even when I was here. It was just one of those things that was going to come sooner or later, but when it actually hits and you hear the whole crowd roaring your name, it’s something special. I’d been picturing that ever since I was a little kid, and it’s so much better than I imagined.”

J.W. Walsh

“It’s been an incredible time. I couldn’t have asked for anything better except to maybe go out with a win. Other than that, it’s been an incredible career and journey. It hasn’t gone the way I thought it would when I first got here, but looking back now, it’s been a lot of fun.”

Kevin Peterson

“It’s been amazing. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s been the best four years of my life, and I’ve met some of the best friends I’ll ever have here so I have no regrets for coming here. It just hit me all at once. I usually just bottle it up, but it just kind of hit me. I was walking out there, and I knew my parents were going to be there, seeing the same thing I see for the first time. They usually are up in the stands, but this was my last time on this field and so it just kind of all got to me at once.”

Awesome, awesome stuff.
