(Barely) Passing Grade
Sports Illustrated rated all the college basketball new hires and *gasp* they were pretty harsh on Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma State: D-
After virtually ensuring that Underwood would leave as soon as possible by basically insulting him twice in contract dealings, the Cowboys promoted a 35-year-old Underwood assistant with zero head coaching experience. Let’s hope that the school affords Mike Boynton Jr. the leeway to grow into the gig. But betting on patience from a major-conference program is often foolish. [Sports Illustrated]
Tell me how you really feel, Sports Illustrated. On the bright side, it feels like the poor grade is primarily a short-term view. No cross words were said about the potential of Brooklyn’s finest, only strong words from a third party about tempering expectations.
Unwavering Commitment
The crown jewel of the 2018 recruiting class is here to stay (currently).
Sanders has been the subject of some rumors and discussion on other websites regarding his commitment and whether schools losing quarterback commitments could find him a willing listener. That does not seem to be the case.
Sanders has said his recruiting is over and he is committed to Oklahoma State. His work right now is finishing his rehab from the knee injury that finished his season in game 15 after he had been responsible passing and running for 56 touchdowns in Ryan’s unbeaten season up to that point. [Go Pokes $$$]
So if you were hearing “rumors and discussion on other websites”, fear no more. Robert Allen chatted with Sanders on the phone and everything looks great. Which is fantastic because I’d love to see a guy in orange and black throwing passes who reportedly ran a 4.43 pre-ACL tear.
