Impact of Lucas N’Guessan Commitment

As you may have heard by now, Brad Underwood has landed a commitment from seven-foot center Lucas N’Guessan from the Netherlands. With a prospect coming in like N’Guessan for 2016, there’s two major takeaways.

1. Jordy Tshimanga, a 6-11 center from Granby, MA, who was expected to take an official visit to Stillwater this weekend, has cancelled his trip and will now visit UNLV this weekend instead.
2. This essentially rules OSU out of the Omer Yurtseven sweepstakes.

The important thing to keep in mind here is that more than likely, Oklahoma State didn’t like their chances with the five-star Yurtseven. And Tshimanga, although he was planning to visit, may have been lower on the Cowboys recruiting board than N’Guessan. Just speculating, but Tshimanga was (and still is) considering Nebraska as his favorite. So perhaps the Tshimanga and Yurtseven dominoes were bound to fall over, and N’Guessan just helped with the process.

More on 2018 DB LaDarrius Bishop

As I noted in yesterday’s edition of The Reload, Oklahoma State extended an offer to Ashdown, Arkansas prospect LaDarrius Bishop on Wednesday. I talked with Bishop briefly after the offer who said he was “very excited and very happy” about the Cowboys offer. He mentioned that, being just a sophomore, he doesn’t have an ideal fit or program yet in mind, but he’s planning to feel out the best school throughout his recruiting process. Specifically, he said he wants to consider how the schools academics are ran, so he clearly has a good head on his shoulders.

The 6-foot cornerback has offers from Baylor and OSU.

New Hoops Offer

Brad Underwood continued his planning for the future on Wednesday night with an offer to 2018 power forward prospect Kamaka Hepa of Barrow, Alaska. ESPN ranks him a five-star prospect, while Scout and Rivals rank him as a four-star prospect.

The Alaskan high-flyer has offers from Nebraska, Miami, Utah, Wichita State, Tulane, and several other small schools.

Cowboys pursuing four-star Washington commit

Jason McEndoo, like much of the coaching staff, has been everywhere on the recruiting trail leaving no stone unturned. And on Wednesday, McEndoo tweeted out the tweet below about a FaceTime call with a recruit:

The 425 area code belongs to Bellevue, Wa. prospect Hunter Bryant. Bryant is a four-star tight end committed to Washington. He’s an absolute monster on the outside and as McEndoo mentioned, he can score in the red zone with ease given his massive 6-foot-3, 240-pound frame.
