Oklahoma State One of 10 Teams to Join Exclusive 5-0 Club in 2015
Memphis and Iowa are two of the 10 undefeated teams. So are Oklahoma State and Ohio State.
There are only 20 undefeated FBS teams as of October 4, 2015. Of those 20, only 10 are 5-0. Oklahoma State is one of the few that’s reached the 5-0 plateau. It’s the fourth time it has done so under Mike Gundy. The other three (2008, 2010 and 2011) were pretty memorable seasons.
Here are the 10 teams that are 5-0.
A pretty impressive (and weird) list (Iowa? Memphis?) And yet, despite defeating a previously-undefeated Kansas State team to get to 5-0 on Saturday evening, Oklahoma State actually moved down in the AP Poll.
Not that the AP Poll matters. In this era of the College Football Playoff, if you win them all, you’re in (I think … probably).
“We’ve got a lot of work to do, and we’ve got a long way to go,” said Mike Gundy on Saturday. “I want them to embrace the moment, enjoy the win and come back ready to prepare for the next game tomorrow.”
It hasn’t been beautiful. It hasn’t been like 2011. But it has been perfect so far. Like Mason Rudolph said here, “it’s a great feeling any time you keep that zero in the right-hand column.”
