NBC sports listed Evans as a late-first to early-second round pick. CBS has him ranked as the No. 59 prospect in the draft. Let’s take a look at where a few other outlets view his draft stock.
Draft Express
The most recent mock draft at Draft Express has Evans going No. 27 to the Portland Trail Blazers.
SBNation
SB Nation listed Evans as the No. 29 pick, going to the San Antonio Spurs which would be a pretty awesome situation for him.
Draft Site
The folks at Draft Site have Evans going No. 33 to the Phoenix Suns.
There were a number of sports outlets who didn’t list Evans as a first-round pick, including ESPN. They have him ranked as the No. 11 point guard in the NBA Draft saying he “lacks elite size for his position” and is “just an average athlete.”
Here is what Chad Ford wrote about him for ESPN.
Evans is coming off a stellar sophomore season that saw him increase his scoring average to 19.2 PPG to go along with 6.4 APG. While he lacks elite size for his position, he’s a tough floor general and an elite ball handler. He’s currently projected by scouts in the Nos. 25-45 range.
