The Reload: Underwood offers 2019 PG, OSU in the mix for Elite QB, and more

The Reload is PFB’s new recruiting nightcap, which will catch you up to speed on the day’s eventsĀ surrounding Oklahoma State recruiting with an ear to the ground on what to expect in the near future.

Running back business is boomin’

You’ve probably heard the news. But business has been very kind to running backs Coach Marcus Arroyo. The second year assistant landed commitments this weekend first from Fitzgerald, GA power back JD King. And then Sunday, he landed the lightning to go with King’s Thunder with the commitment of Canadian speedster Chuba Hubbard.

This is a real life video of Hubbard running track. That’s a 100M. And everyone’s in the dust.

Even Dez Bryant is a fan of the Canadian monster.Ā

More on running back Chase Hayden

Hayden, the Collierville, TN, native, named Oklahoma State in his top 5 earlier this week. And although the Cowboys obviously picked up two standout backs this weekend, don’t think that will hurt their chances with the big-time back with 16 Div. I offers. With Childs, Carson, and Barry J. all completing their final year next season, there’s plenty of opportunity for playing time in 2017.

Here’s what he toldĀ Bleacher Report’s Damon Sayles:Ā “I’m trying to find out more about them,” he said of the five schools. “Out of all the offers, those were the most serious about me. I’m trying to choose the best place for me and pick a place where I feel I can fit in. I want to go to a place where I spend my years and be happy, even if I wasn’t playing football.”

Hayden is the son of former NFL tailback Aaron Hayden, who also played his college ball at the University of Tennessee – a school who figures to be squarely in the mix to land his services.

Cowboy coaches GPS recruiting locations

The Cowboy coaching staff was all over the midwest on Monday. And in a very cool and somewhat surprising move by the staff, they broadcasted where each of the coaches would be recruiting during the day. Also shoutout to Coach Spencer for staying hip with social media. I can just imagine him with his bifocals squinting on the road trying to figure out how to send this. Coach Spencer hit up D-town today.

Safeties coach Dan Hammerschmidt was in Ashdown, Ark. today. One source tells me he was by to check in with 2017 6-1 safety Montaric Brown. Brown is a four-star safety with offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, OSU, and others. Brown recently made a trip to Stillwater for an unofficial visit the weekend of the spring game, and is expected to release his top schools soon. I expect OSUĀ to make the cut.

2018 QB Recruiting

Oklahoma State has been in heavy pursuit for 2018 QB options already. They’ve already extended several offers, including to Cali QB Cameron Rising. The Newbury Park, CA native has offers from Bama, Michigan, Miami, OU, OSU, and many others. But one source close to Rising says OSU has “a very real shot” with the 6-2 gunslinger. And it looks like Coach Arroyo, who has been EVERYWHERE on the recruiting trail, has his hands in the pot for Rising, too.

Here’s a quick glance at him in action from earlier this spring.

Oklahoma State offers 2019 Guard Jordyn Adams

Brad Underwood and his staff extended an offer to 2019 point guard Jordyn Adams of Beaumont, Texas on Monday. OSU became his first offer. I talked with Adams after the offer, and he said he was “Very excited” and that he is looking forward to coming down to visit the campus.Ā
