The Reload is PFB’s recruiting recap, catching you up to speed on the latest news and rumors surrounding Oklahoma State recruiting, with an ear to the ground for what to expect in the future.

 2017 Defensive Back Visiting

2017 Denton Guyer defensive back Thabo Mwaniki confirmed to PFB that he is planning to visit Stillwater today for an unofficial visit. I mentioned last week that the interest between OSU and Mwaniki is very high; don’t be surprised to see him walk away with an offer before the end of the trip.

2017 power forward offered by Oklahoma State

Brad Underwood was on the move again on Wednesday with several new offers, the first being to 2017 power forward Tyler Polley of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Polley is a four-star prospect with just 4 offers from UAB, TCU, Temple and now OSU. According to 247sports, Florida State is the favorite, but they have not extended an offer.

2019 small forward offered by Oklahoma State

The second offer of the day came out to 2019 small forward Jalen Wilson, a standout prospect from Guyer High School in Texas. Wilson is a 6-5 flyer with big athleticism and a nice frame already with room to grow. In the mold of a point forward, Wilson has good ball handling skills and a pretty good shooting touch from outside, something Underwood has seemingly prioritized in his small forward targets.

Five-star point guard Trae Young Names Final 6

Hit on this last night but wanted to bring this back up that one of the top 20 prospects in the entire class of 2017 named OSU in his final 6 schools, along with OU, Washington, Kansas, Texas Tech and Kentucky.

Here’s what Young had to say about OSU (via Zagsblog.com):

They have a new coaching staff with coach Underwood and I feel like he’s going to turn things around. I would just love to be a part of that and help turn the program around.”

Young has elected to stay in state for his final year of high school, rather than heading to prep school, so OSU still has a chance to make their final pitches from a favorable distance. But like I mentioned yesterday, I still think OU, KU, and UK are all in pretty good positions at this point, with UW and OSU shortly following as dark horses. But as recruiting goes, it’s possible all of this could change….
