The Reload: DE Recruit Planning Other Officials, Louisiana Athlete Planning OSU Visit

The Reload is PFB’s recruiting recap, catching you up to speed on the latest news and rumors surrounding Oklahoma State recruiting, with an ear to the ground for what to expect in the future.

Nelson Mbanasor Planning another Official Visit

Oklahoma State’s 2017 defensive end pledge Nelson Mbanasor of Pflugerville, Texas, is still shopping his options. In addition to a planned official visit to Arkansas, he will also take an official visit to Texas Tech on October 22 and an official visit to the newly offered Illinois Fighting Illini the following week. His older brother, P.J., is a defensive back for OU, but the Sooners have not jumped on board. He remains committed to Oklahoma State but with him shopping his options, I’m skeptical whether he ends up sticking with OSU.

Former Baylor Pledge Heading to Houston

After opening up his recruitment after Art Briles was fired, former Bellaire High School defensive back announced he is sticking close to home and committing to Houston:

Stiner was seriously considering OSU after taking an unofficial visit earlier this summer, but it appears the allure to play for a soon-to-be Big 12 program in Houston won out. Even with his commitment, though, OSU will remain in the mix moving forward and remain in contact if he changes his mind or if coaching changes take place, etc. But for now it appears he is shutting down his recruitment.

Four-star athlete Could Make official visit

After offering a scholarship to Monroe, Louisiana athlete/quarterback earlier this year, the Pokes could be in line to host him soon for an official visit, he said in an interview with Scout this week.

“Next week we have a bye week, so I’ll either go to OK State or Arizona State,” Cole said. Saying “yes sir” that OSU remains in the mix.

“I love OK State, I love their coaches, I have a chance to play there early as the coaches explained to me and they have a great education there.”

Cole says he plans to shut down his recruitment “in about a month or two”, so the Pokes could have one of their final chances soon to make their last pitch before a decision comes. At the moment, 247sports crystal ball predictions are in for Arkansas:

Two Small Forward Targets Commit Elsewhere

After jumping in the mix earlier this summer for both Tyler Polley and DJ Harvey, the two small forward have now committed to UConn and Notre Dame, respectively.

With two small forwards now crossed off the list, OSU will turn their attention to 2017 Jordan Nwora, who is a 6-foot-8 prospect from Vermont Academy. He is one of the only uncommitted small forward prospects on OSU’s board — which means either OSU is high on their chances, or that more offers at the position could be coming soon.
